What each metric means

  • Slug length — characters in the final slug; primary check against CMS or filesystem limits.
  • Segments — hyphen-separated pieces (roughly words after cleanup).
  • Hyphens — how many separators; spikes can mean long compound titles.
  • Words / title characters — quick sense of input size before cleanup.
  • Quick peek — short before/after when your paste is not huge.
  • Lines (trimmed) — newline count after trim; multi-line titles show structure before slugging.
  • Reading time — rough minutes on your original paste at ~200 wpm (for long titles or blurbs).
  • Status line — instant “ready to copy” vs “no URL-safe slug yet” without reading the whole panel.
