What each metric means

  • Slug length - characters in the final slug; primary check against CMS or filesystem limits.
  • Segments - hyphen-separated pieces (roughly words after cleanup).
  • Hyphens - how many separators; spikes can mean long compound titles.
  • Words / title characters - quick sense of input size before cleanup.
  • Quick peek - short before/after when your paste is not huge.
  • Lines (trimmed) - newline count after trim; multi-line titles show structure before slugging.
  • Reading time - rough minutes on your original paste at ~200 wpm (for long titles or blurbs).
  • Status line - instant “ready to copy” vs “no URL-safe slug yet” without reading the whole panel.
