How it works

What each metric means

  • Lines - split on newline (\n); Windows \r\n still yields one break per row in most pastes.
  • Empty - whitespace-only rows after trim; included in total so you can audit spacing.
  • Paragraphs / sentences - same rules as Sentence counter; useful when prose has hard line breaks.
  • Reading time - ~200 wpm from words; tune with Reading time.
  • Longest line - raw character length of the longest row (great for wide log fields).

Privacy: Your paste is not uploaded for counting; it stays in this tab until you reload, clear, or copy it yourself.

  • Why doesn’t this match wrapped lines in my editor? Only newline characters count; visual wrap is ignored.
